EpcotServo's Jan. 29th USF/IOA Update: Updating Universal

Hey there everyone! As you may or may not know or care, it's been nearly a year since my Universal AP expired. But the other day I was very lucky, and got to spend the day at USF and IOA. So for the first time, let's get started on the first ever Universal Update!

Universal Studios Florida

-Thankfully, it wasn't a crowded day. We walked right into the loading area on EVERY ride we went on throughout the day.

-First up, after a few rides on ROTM, it was time to check out the Earthquake! refurb, now called "Disaster!". With not much news about it, and one very bad review from Mr.Miceage, everyone in my party had pretty low expectations. And what I can say without a doubt, is that he is crazy. Not only is there any reason to bash the refurb (I guess he must've never even BEEN on the old ride.) but the chages were all very, very good. The theme was great, and the new pre-show is really quite amazing to see. (and would've REALLY made the RNR Pre-Show even cooler if they had done it this way.)

Also, the hosts and hostess were all dead-on funny, and very excited and seemed to be enjoying having to actully act, instead of standing and talking about effects from a movie nobody remembers.

Bravo, Universal Creative! You really sursprised everyone in my party with this one!

-Also it should be noted that it was nice to see so many effects working on all of the rides!

-Jaws was under refurb.

-Simpsons still looked like Back to the Future, but blue.

-the Kwik-E-Mart was open. It's alot like the 7-11 overlay that we had awhile back when the movie came out.

Islands Of Adventure

-Not much in the way of progress for Harry Potter, still just a wall. Though they were hard at work.

EpcotServo's Jan.26th STUDIOS Update: Stu-Stu-Studios!

Hey there everybody, had a fun day at the parks today, and noticed two major things...

STUDIOS

-as it has been reported, the Monsters Inc. meet and greet is moving. They are constructing (very openly might I add.) a new meet and greet where the old Goosebumps Horror Maze was. (Near the exit to the Backlot Tour) They have already stocked Monsters Inc. merch in the nearby store, so it should open soon.

-New Speaker towers have been added from Echo Lake (near ABC Theatre) all the way to Backlot Express restaraunt for Block Party Bash.

-Muppets really needs a rehab. Broken AAs, faded, burnt-out gobos, and a flickering projector. My favorite show needs a cleaning!

-RNR seemed to be backed up nearly all day...

-it was surprisingly crowded.

EpcotServo's Jan. 24th EPCOT/MK Update: No country for old Updates!

Yes. The beloved home of my Updates have given in and moved on.

And so, it's the end of an era (era here meaning a year.) And since I can't give the original Update-style a great send off, I'll let these guys do it. (Please skip to minute 3:22.)



Now that that's all done, it's time to napkin up the blood and entrails and move on to another town...So let's get started with a brand new update at a brand new site! And now, without further stalling for time, here it is!

EPCOT

-Crowds were medium to bad, waits were pretty good though.

-Saw many broken cars on Spaceship Earth, including my own! It had no audio and a fritzing out screen. (It was cool to see it reboot though!)

-A Seagull is missing from The Seas' sign. Hopefully this means they are fixing them!

-One booth of Innervision at Spaceship Earth opened. (Didn't get to play it though, sorry.)

Magic Kingdom

-No recruiters for the DS test, though I saw one guest with it, and a few Imagineers standing around messing with them.

-The first three dad AA's in COP looked GREAT! They must've rehabbed them. Very nice!

EpcotServo's Jan. 7th STUDIOS Update: What's in a name?

Hello everyone, had a great day at teh Studios today...lots of pictures so let's get right to it!

STUDIOS

-SIGNAGE! Ok, so I'd say it's about half one and half the other name.Some little things were changed (pics included) while the Earful Tower and arch were all still bare. The biggest sign was the new letters on top of ticketing. Cast Members were all spot on at getting the name right.

-The TSM wall has moved up while Narnia is under rehab.

-Pretty much all of the MGM merch is gone (save for attraction stuff and a few frames and such.) Nothing with the new name, but one coat that says Disney MGM Studios 2008. Must've been already made!

-Muppets actully went 101 while I was waiting in the pre show.

-crowds were good.-No hoopla at all.

Epcotservo's Jan. 2nd EPCOT Update: Another year, another Update.

Helloooo and happy new year everyone! Heard it was going to be cold today, so I figured I'd do a quick run around EPCOT. Try out my fancy new WDI Submarine Voyage coat......


Little did I know that "cold" meant "coldest it's ever been in Florida!"


Well, still better than hot, I say. Anyways, on to the Update!

EPCOT

-First up, the Yourfacemotron was working today at Spaceship Earth, and I liked it! It worked well, and made the ending MUCH better for me.

-It was pretty crowded, everything having big waits.

-The Wand has been taken down!
